Family fun in Bristol this summer – join Empire's Big Link Up

Looking for things to do with kids in Bristol as we get towards the end of the summer holidays? Join us on Friday 28 August for our Big Link Up, a community fundraising day packed with games, food, coffee and plenty of family fun.

Taking place from 12pm to 3pm at our gym in BS5, the event is an opportunity for families and supporters to come together, meet the Empire team and discover more about the work that happens inside our gym.

Games, challenges and family fun

There'll be plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout the afternoon, including challenges against Empire's coaches and activities for all the family.

You can:

  • 🥊 Take on an Empire coach in speed shadow boxing
  • 🥊 Test your skills in the Pad Ball challenge
  • 💪 See how long you can manage the Tough Hang
  • 🪢 Have a go at the skipping challenge
  • 🤼 Challenge your family and friends to tug of war
  • 💦 Take aim at a coach in Sponge the Coach
  • 🎯 Try your hand at the beanbag challenge
  • ☕ Enjoy great coffee and tasty treats from Harts Bakery and Extract Coffee
  • 🛍️ Browse Empire merchandise and the tuck shop

Entry to the event is free, with tokens available to purchase for the games. 

All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

More than just a fun day

Our Big Link Up is about more than finding something to do during the summer holidays.

The event is designed to bring the local community together, open up Empire's doors and raise vital funds to help us support even more young people to access our support and programmes.

For young people who come through our doors, Empire is a place to build confidence, develop resilience and find a sense of belonging. The money raised through the event will help us continue our work and reach more young people who could benefit from our support.

Hart's Bakery and Extract Coffee are supporting the event with donated food and refreshments, helping us create a welcoming community day while maximising the funds that can go towards supporting young people.
