Empire Triumph at Wesport Awards (1)

Empire Fighting Chance have been awarded the prestigious Contribution to Sport in Education Award at the 2014 Wesport COSE ceremony on 12th November 2014.The award was granted for inspiring involvement in sport and physical activity within an educational environment and demonstrating excellent partnership working, community links and creation of opportunities to keep those in education involved in sport.Over the past 6 months Empire have delivered targeted Alternative Education programmes using boxing as an incentive to help young people in schools re-engage with education. The programmes have produced very positive results including advancing the reading ages and attendance rates of all attendees.
