BRISTOL BUSINESSES HELP RAISE £18,215 FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AT EMPIRE FIGHTING CHANCE QUIZ NIGHT

Empire Fighting Chance's annual quiz night raised £18,215 thanks to the support of businesses, partners and supporters from across Bristol.
The evening was a reminder of the important role local businesses play in helping young people access life-changing support, opportunities and programmes in Bristol and beyond.
Around 200 people, forming 20 teams, took part in the event, which brought together supporters from businesses and organisations across the city.
Guests spent the evening testing their knowledge, taking part in a fundraising auction and hearing directly from the people whose lives have been shaped by Empire Fighting Chance's work.
MORE THAN A FUNDRAISING EVENT
Alongside the coaches, therapists, youth workers and volunteers supporting young people every day is a wider community of businesses, partners and supporters helping make that work possible.
Guests heard from Empire Fighting Chance co-founder and Executive Director Martin Bisp and Head of Growth and Partnerships Aaron Morten about the growing network of organisations using boxing to support young people across the UK and increasingly internationally.
Guests also heard directly from young people who spoke about the role Empire Fighting Chance had played in their lives.
Youth Advisory Board members Sabriin and Harry shared their experiences of being involved with Empire Fighting Chance, while programme alumni Ruby shared how support from Empire helped her overcome challenges and build her confidence.
"One of the most powerful parts of the evening was hearing directly from young people who had completed the programme, sharing with confidence how it had helped change the direction of their lives."

THE IMPACT OF SUPPORT
In 2025, Empire Fighting Chance reached 10,609 young people.
Of those, 2,587 were supported directly through gym and school-based programmes, while a further 8,022 young people were reached through trained boxing clubs and partner organisations across England and Wales.
Funds raised through events such as the quiz night help ensure more young people can access that support in the future.
The evening also featured a fundraising auction, with supporters bidding on a range of donated prizes including four tickets to the Premier League Darts and two tickets to the Champion of Champions snooker, both donated by Matchroom, a Bristol City matchday experience and a luxury lunch for two at Bianchis Group.
