From the Gym to Great Futures, Our Box Careers Programme in Action

As part of our Box Careers programme at Empire Fighting Chance, this month our young people have had the opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths through a series of exciting visits and workshops, and what a month it’s been! 👏

These experiences are designed to open doors, build confidence, and inspire ambition beyond the gym. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

🚒 Avon Fire & Rescue Service:
We spent an incredible day at the fire station learning about the many roles that keep our communities safe. Young people got hands-on with the equipment, asked brilliant questions, and gained a new appreciation for the teamwork and dedication behind the job. Huge thanks to Avon Fire & Rescue Service for such an unforgettable experience!

📄 CV Workshop at the Gym
Thanks to Turner & Townsend, a group of young people sharpened their CV writing skills, gaining practical knowledge that will help them take the next step in their career journeys. It was inspiring to see their confidence grow so quickly.

✈️ Airbus
Our visit to Bristol Airbus gave insight into careers in aerospace. From designing a commercial airplane seating plan to pitching their ideas Dragon’s Den–style, young people embraced the challenge. The day finished with a detailed presentation on entry-level roles within one of the world’s leading aerospace companies.

⚖️ Foot Anstey LLP
At Foot Anstey, young people explored the inner workings of a law firm. With workshops on legal careers, a Q&A with an experienced lawyer, an office tour, and a session on transferable skills, it was an inspiring day full of learning and insight.
