Box Careers
Box Careers combines non-contact boxing training with careers and education activities to support young people aged 16 to 25 on their journey into learning, training and work.
the programme
We understand that disadvantaged young people can face barriers when it comes to accessing mainstream employability support. That's why we have combined non-contact boxing training with careers and education activities to help them unlock their full potential.
Box Careers provides psychologically informed mentoring and employability support alongside non-contact boxing training to help young people think differently about themselves and their future.
By improving physical and mental health through sport, young people develop a positive attitude towards their career, improve their career planning skills, gain skills for work, and achieve qualifications through Empire Fighting Chance to support their career progression.
The programme opens doors to a range of progression opportunities, such as jobs, apprenticeships, work experience, training, further education and additional employability support.
Our practical careers support is tailored to support individuals to identify their career interests, navigate the job market, and apply for jobs. We also bring things to life by running visits to employers and we use our employer partnerships in Bristol to signpost young people onto relevant progression opportunities.
