At Empire Fighting Chance, we believe every young person deserves the chance to realise their potential. From our base in Easton, Bristol, we now reach over 10,000 young people across the UK each year with a powerful mix of non-contact boxing and personal support. We see first-hand how this transforms lives and that impact is shaped not only by our coaches but also by the trustees who guide our mission and strategy.

We’re now looking for new trustees to join our board at an exciting and ambitious stage in our journey. Trustees play a vital role in making sure we stay true to our mission, supporting and challenging our leadership team, and helping us grow in ways that create the greatest impact. You don’t need to be a boxing expert. What matters most is your passion for transforming young lives, and the skills and experiences you can bring. This could be knowledge of mental health and youth services, finance or governance, fundraising, communications, digital, business development or lived experience of the challenges many of our young people face.

Being a trustee is about more than attending meetings. It’s about offering your insight and perspective to help us make the best possible decisions, acting as an ambassador for our work, and contributing to the big conversations about how we innovate, stay financially healthy, and reach more young people. It’s also about collaboration working alongside a committed board and a talented leadership team who are united by a shared belief in the power of boxing and therapy to change lives.

The commitment is manageable: we meet quarterly, with one strategy day each year, plus the option to contribute to subcommittees or projects where your expertise is particularly valuable. The role is voluntary, with travel expenses covered, and trustees are normally appointed for three years. In return, you’ll gain fresh perspectives, the chance to learn from others, and the satisfaction of knowing your time and skills are making a real difference to thousands of young people every year.
